Our Practice

Office Hours

Our office hours are 8AM - 4PM, Monday - Thursday. The office closes for most recognized holidays and occasionally on non-holidays, due to lectures or conferences. Appointments may be scheduled by contacting us at (617) 431-4451.

Appointments

Your first appointment usually is an hour in length (sometimes longer) and your follow-ups, as long as thirty minutes. Once you have made an appointment, the office staff will mail you a patient information packet (or, you can download it from the "Downloads" column on the left) that includes a medical history form. Please fill out the enclosed forms and bring them to your first visit. This will save time during your discussions with the doctor and leave more time for your treatment.  If you have any reports that are pertinent to your medical problem, such as lab work, x-rays or MRI reports, please bring them as well. It will also be helpful if you are able to wear loose clothing as your treatment will include hands-on osteopathic treatment. You will be asked to remove your shoes prior to treatment.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please contact us at least 2 business days in advance. We do keep a waiting list for patients and this allows us to offer someone else your appointment time. It is our office policy to charge for a missed appointment and late cancellations.

Insurance

Dr. William Foley is an out of network provider. This means you will be responsible for paying for the visit up front and will be provided with the necessary paper work to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.  Payment is required at the time of service. Most of our patients with a PPO type insurance receive reimbursement and many HMO type insurance plans reimburse if a referral by a PCP has been requested.  For more information on reimbursement for your particular insurance plan, it is best to call your insurance company.

Dr. Kristin Foley is a Medicare provider and currently her Blue Cross/Blue Shield panel is closed. Please bring your insurance cards to the appointment. If you have an HMO type of insurance, you are responsible for contacting your primary care provider for a referral (if required by your insurance company). Please make sure the referral is in place prior to your appointment, otherwise your insurance company may refuse to pay for the visit and you will have to pay out of pocket. For all other insurances you will be responsible for paying for the visit up front and will be provided with the necessary paper work to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Co-payments need to be paid at the time of service. If you have questions regarding your coverage, please contact your insurance company prior to your appointment. We are regarded as a specialty practice.

There are some insurance companies that will not pay for two different types of treatment modalities if they are received on the same day, (for example, physical therapy or therapeutic massage). We urge you not to schedule other appointments of this type on the same day as your appointment at Boston Osteopathic Health.

Motor Vehicle Injuries

If your injury is the result of a motor vehicle accident, you will be responsible for paying at the time of your visit and we will provide you the necessary paperwork for reimbursement.  We do not bill third parties even if they were at fault. Your insurance company is responsible for negotiating payment with the other party. If you want us to bill your health insurance company because your motor vehicle insurance has denied payment, you must provide us the denial in writing at the time of your visit at Boston Osteopathic Health.

Worker's Compensation Cases

If you are being seen for a work related injury or illness, you will be responsible for paying at the time of your visit and we will provide you the necessary paperwork for reimbursement.  Please be sure to bring all the necessary billing information including the Date of Injury, the Claim Number and the contact information for any case/nurse managers or attorneys assigned to the case. It is your responsibility to gather any paper work that needs to be completed by a physician.

Environment

Our goal is to create an environment that is peaceful and nurturing for our patients. We therefore ask that cell phones are turned off while you are in the office. We also ask that you refrain from wearing any perfumes or products with strong fragrances, and that you not smoke prior to you appointment, as some of our patients have chemical sensitivities and /or respiratory problems. In order that you may receive the best treatment possible, you may want to arrange childcare for young children who might have difficulty being patient while their parent is being cared for.
